Cliff Nickel IPO closes one week early oversubscribed
4 December 2007: Western Australian nickel company White Cliff
Nickel Ltd (ASX: WCN) has closed its
IPO one week early strongly exceeding its maximum $6 million subscription
limit. The company expects to list on
the ASX on 14 December and will continue to further explore and evaluate its
extensive tenement holdings near Laverton in Western Australia.
“As expected our IPO was heavily oversubscribed. We received
strong interest and positive sentiment from the investment community helped by
the solid global nickel market combined with the size and pedigree of our
flagship White Cliff project,” said Mr Michael Langoulant, managing director of
WCN.
White Cliff’s tenements are located
in a highly prospective nickel region of WA’s eastern goldfields. Recent
exploration at White Cliff has delivered significant nickel sulphide
indicators. The tenements are close to
the Murrin Murrin and the Mt Windara nickel mines. It is just seven kilometres
north of Minara Resources / Yilgarn Mining’s Coglia Well project and adjoins
Heron Resources’ Mineral Patch Hill project.
The company’s first drilling
campaign will commence in early 2008 and concentrate on 8 key prospective
targets identified along the 35km-strike length. This 35km strike is believed to be a major
greenstone belt extension. WCN has budgeted to drill at least 10,000m of holes
along this prospective structure.
Potential also exists for gold mineralisation within WCN’s
greenstone complex, particularly at greenstone/granite contact. The Sunrise Dam
and Bright Star gold mines are nearby.
The issue, of up to 24 million
shares in WCN at 25˘ each was sponsored by Novus Capital and supported by
Emerald Partners.
